Regarded as a pioneer in the agricultural field, centenarian Pappammal’s life has demonstrated that age is no barrier. Growing up in a rural village in Tamil Nadu where she has a small 2.5 acre farm, at age 107, Pappammal wakes up at dawn to tend to her fields and engage with the local farming community. Even without the benefit of a formal education, Pappammal’s unique farming practices have garnered the attention of many, including academic institutions who have incorporated her methods into their curriculum.
